Stage Lighting Basics: From DMX to Design.
A workshop with Krista Pavane.

This course will cover standard use and care of lighting equipment; plotting and programming with conventional and LED fixtures; and elements of design with a special bent towards adapting for this year’s festival stages.
Krista Pavane has only been electrocuted once in her thirty year career as a technician and lighting designer. She has a full-time gig as Technical Operations Manager at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam, a roadhouse venue that hosts over 280 events each season. On her off days, she supports the work of several local high schools and community theatre groups, goes out on the road with WinterHarp and a handful of other touring productions, and sits on the BC Section board of the Canadian Institute of Theatre Technology. She is an instructor at the annual Technique workshop, runs a robust work experience program for SD43 students, and once taught her Dad how to run followspot for a drag show.
